FAJARA WAR CEMETERY, Gambia
Location:
Fajara War Cemetery is mid-way between Atlantic Road and Tourist Road. If travelling by taxi ask for Fajara War Cemetery on Pipeline Road (Kairaba Avenue), about 2 kilometres from Atlantic Road. By foot it is best to ask for Pipeline Road. Also within the cemetery will be found the Memorial Tablet commemorating the men of Gambia who served in the Royal West African Frontier Forces, who died whilst serving in West Africa and whose graves are not
known or are unmaintainable.
Historical Information:
There are 200 Commonwealth burials of the 1939-1945 war, 1 of which is unidentified.
